A Leadership Speaker Series
Join corporate and business leaders from across the St. Louis metro area during our Society Talk Speaker Series that highlights topics related to leadership. The speakers series is implemented through a panel discussion with area business leaders.
In 2016, the American Cancer Society St. Louis office hosted the inaugural “Society Talk” Leadership Panel, with several people from at least 19 different corporate and community organizations attending.
Some of the past speakers included Ann Marr, VP of Global Human Resources, World Wide Technology; Karen Vangyia, Managing Parnter, KPMG; Susan Stith, VP of Diversity, Inclusion, and Corporate Giving, Express Scripts; Maxine Clark, CEO & President Clark-Fox Foundation, Cindy Preszler, Meteorologist WeatherSTL, Shea Leordeanu, VP Public Relations, Scottrade, Dave Minifie, Chief Experience Officer, Centene, and many others from companies like Boeing, SIteman Cancer Center, Ameren, and the St. Louis Cardinals to name a few. Each discussion is moderated by Jennifer Rigdon, Executive Communications Manager, Express Scripts.
Each informal panel discussion focuses on a different leadership topic with a call to action and invitation to bring leadership skills to the American Cancer Society. Future panels will continue to connect the dots on leadership skills, personal branding, networking, skill based volunteer opportunities with ACS, and employee engagement aligned with corporate responsibility visions.
To close out the yearly Speakers Series we will feature area CEOs during our Fall Series titled "Conversations with CEOs".
Audience feedback continue to rate the discussions overwhelmingly as exceeding expectations, and plans are underway for the 2018 session.
We hope to see at the next “Society Talk” so that you can experience what our guests did at this one:
“Good discussion, with some good reminders to bring you back and connect back to your style [of leadership].”
“I truly enjoyed the insight the panel discussion provided on their careers. I learned a lot that I believe will be useful in my career.”
“This very much was a leadership conversation, as opposed to a ‘women’s leadership’ conversation. A great job by all!”
“The three speakers were very clear in their message on how to engage employees…and develop leaders within organizations.”
“This was absolutely fantastic!”
